The Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) has detained, over the last 24 hours, at International Airports of Lisboa, Porto and Faro, five foreign nationals for evidences of the crime of forgery of administrative documents and assisting unlawful immigration.
Four of the detainees, all with the same nationality, have submitted at the exit control from the national territory to Ireland, Italian identity documents with strong evidences of counterfeit.
The fifth detainee, a 42-year-old European citizen, was in the possession of the true passport of one of the detainees which showed SEF inspectors an Italian passport with strong suspicion as far its authenticity.
Information has been obtained within SEF Central Directorate of Investigation, and clear evidence for the crime of assisting unlawful immigration has been ascertained.
The detainees will be brought before the competent judicial court for the application of cautionary measures.
