The Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) releases, today, a new bilingual service for every citizen entering Portugal from the United Kingdom, Brazil, South Africa, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Slovenia, Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Poland and Sweden. This service allows citizens from the above countries to anticipate the forwarding of information required under the compliance of the 14-day prophylactic isolation, as order from the Portuguese government, speeding up the procedure of border control.
At the arrival to Portugal, by air, land or sea, every citizen from the abovementioned countries must comply, after entering, a 14-day prophylactic isolation. This new service, available at Travel.sef.pt, allows the citizen to submit in a declaration form every information needed for the speeding up of the control procedure at the border, before boarding or at the arrival to Portugal and prior to control.
After submission of the data by the passenger, in which the address of destination in the national territory is included, an e-mail requesting the confirmation of the address will be received, and a certificate will be received accordingly as well. This certificate shall be submitted to the SEF inspector at the border control. After this procedure the entry into the national territory will be allowed only.
The collected data will be forwarded by SEF to the Directorate General for Health, in order to aid the Portuguese public health authorities tracing the citizens forced to prophylactic isolation.
