The Immigration and Borders Service arrested in Faro Airport a foreign citizen from Glasgow, who was wanted by the Spanish authorities for 14 years for the crime of assaults involving violence, and was referred to as a dangerous individual. Spain issued a request for extradition of the above mentioned citizen.

The detainee (age 34) was brought before a Judge in the Court of Appeal of Évora. The Judge confirmed the temporary arrest, and the citizen was conducted to the Beja Prison facilities, whilst waiting for the formalities of his extradition to Spanish territory.
