Press Release – SEF arrests holder of forged passport at Faro’s Airport
The citizen in question, aged 32, submitted forged passports with the purpose of identifying herself and her minor child who was travelling with her, when they were ready to embark to Toronto – Canada.

The Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF - Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras) arrested a foreign citizen at Faro’s Airport Border Post, on grounds of holding a forged passport.

The citizen in question, aged 32, submitted forged passports with the purpose of identifying herself and her minor child who was travelling with her, when they were ready to embark to Toronto – Canada.

Given that she was illegally staying in Portugal, the citizen was brought to Trial at Faro’s Judicial Court, which determined that she should be taken to Faro’s Airport and stay there awaiting to the subsequent procedural terms that will lead to the citizen’s removal from National Territory.

With regard to the use of a forged identification document, the citizen was judged and sentenced to 60-day fine on a €5 daily-rate.
