SEF’S PERSONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE

To deal with issues related to your documents in Portugal, you may visit the customer service bureaus of the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF), located in all Regional Directorates, Delegations or Departments of your area of residence.

SEF has a pre-booking system whereby your appointment for any customer service bureau can be booked either by telephone or on line.

The establishment of a pre-booking system, managed by SEF’s Call Centre* or by some Regional Delegations, for scheduling a date and time for personal customer service, removes queues and reduces waiting time.

* SEF’s Call Centre is financed by the European Fund for Integration of Third-Country Nationals

 

SCHEDULING BY TELEPHONE
- SEF’s Call Centre -

SEF offers the possibility of scheduling your appointment by telephone, by SEF’s Call Centre, on working days from 09:00 a.m. to 05:30 p.m. via the number 808 202 653 (fixed network) or 808 962 690 (mobile network).

Pre-booking by telephone is MANDATORY** for scheduling meetings in the following bureaus:

The Call Centre shall inform you of the date / time of your meeting and indicate the documents you must bring with you for the meeting with SEF.

You may contact directly, by telephone, the customer service bureaus of the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) of your residence area, in order to pre-book your appointment.

Through this new feature in SEF’s website you may:

Renew your Residence Permit;

Renew your Residence Card (applicable to EU citizens)

To extend your period of permanence (applicable to holders of short stay visa or temporary stay vista)


**Citizens who have entered the country without a visa requirement shall schedule a meeting to extend their period of stay through SEF’s Call Centre on working days from 09:00 a.m. to 05:30 p.m. via the number 808 202 653 (fixed network) or 808 962 690 (mobile network).

You may manage your booking and schedule a meeting with SEF through its website. You shall be immediately informed of the date / time / place of your meeting and of the documents you must bring with you, and receive an e-mail with the evidence of your booking. Please make sure that you provide the correct e-mail address.
